I have some holiday homework for everyone :-)
I want to know how in the heck you get the Bonze Cape. It's been in the FFXI database for almost a year now, but I can't find any information online on how to obtain it.
It could be that the item simply doesn't exist in the game (there's actually several items and areas that are in the game's database but aren't actually in the game), but I've heard rumors that some people have actually seen others wearing this.
So, your homework is to see what you can uncover about this item (if anything). Post your findings in this thread.

Process to acquire a Bonze Cape:

1) your toon Avatar would have to pop into the Factions (Chinese culture) Campaign of Guild Wars and fight in PvP battles - attack and defeat two Chinese Monks (Monk job is Healer job in Guild Wars - I am Factions Monk but you should leave me alone because I am a nice person!)
2) drag the corpses to World of Warcraft - Skinning is a craft in WoW. You need to skin your Bonzes! Don't worry - it is very, very easy to level skinning in WoW. I am sure you can max skinning in WoW before your Bonzes begin to go bad!
3) your toon Avatar should now return to Final Fantasy and locate someone with 100+ in Clothcraft! Research shows most cape recipes to be rather simple - your crafter should try one Bonze skin with one or two, silk threads, gold threads, silver threads and rainbow threads; then repeat the experiment with two Bonze skins!
One Bonze cape should soon be yours! =~_^=

Using the fancy http://ffxiah.com/ I've searched the AH on every server and found that not one has sold a Bonze Cape. Maybe you should start clothcrafting and play around. You might come up with a new formula. Happy hunting!
