It will apparently be called
WINGS OF THE GODDESS
http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/index.shtml
Notice that the key to the expansion is
"a tale once lost is about to be retold"
I will not be purchasing this expansion. A while back I decided to continue to play FFXI but purchase no further expansions. Why? Because I have the following installed:
Base Game (I am Rank 6)
Zilart (on Mission 4)
Chains of Promathia (on Chapter 5)
Treasure of Aht Urhgan (on "Black Coffin" Mission)
all installed on two PC's. A fair amount of gaming software.
I never finished a single one of any of the previous tales, so why bother with a new one? My two gils...
SWEET!
I had a feeling that a new expansion would be annouced (being that Square Party 07 is going on now) but this sounds cool.
The name of this Expansion is interesting. I wonder what goddess they could be talking about. Altana? Or someone new.
Also you reason for not wanting this expansion dosnt make very much sence to me. Of all the people I know on FFXI non of them have beaten all of the XI story. It is not even possible to even have beaten all of ToAU as you cannot. And even though you dont have to have done any AU missions or even bother with any of the story AU adds so much to the game. So why not enjoy all the new content(new jobs, areas?) that will be added with this expansion and just ignore the missions?
to answer your question...
The goddess is Altana. The jpn title mentions Altana.. I'm not sure why each territory has a different title.
It looks like we will see what Vana'diel was like before the Great War. I, for one, want to see Sauromange Champagne(sp?) before the tarutaru destroyed it.. as well as the home of the Galka in Altep before it sank and became Quicksand Caves.
I don't have 2gil to spend to give since I'm saving up for Hagun. LOL!
why?
It may that the name difference is because there arnt really any other goddess's named in XI. But if others took it like I did many will think its a new goddess being introduced.
"Of all the people I know on
"Of all the people I know on FFXI none of them have beaten all of the XI story"
I never said that. I said I needed to finish just ONE FFXI story line before I give Square Enix any more money for their stories. MMORPG's are mainly about stories, my two gils.
I don't really consider it "beating" a story line, understand? I consider it "enjoying" a story line. I can't even follow the main story line any more, what with months between cut-scenes: something about something happens in Vana'diel and the Tarutaru, Elvaan, Humes, Galka and Mithra are upset about it.
Then you toss in a few gods, maybe add a duke, and shake and bake.
