The starving,neglected nin

i agree with mai on this one, whm's already have a gang of powerful magic that really act as hinges or a driving force behind the game. for example tele-porting. what other job is there where you can charge someone for an effortless action. i think the nin is the most neglected job and kinda screwed up, for lack of a better term. nin isnt a damage dealer, the 2 hr is practically usesless. the spells are also kind of useless too, my god the only spell worth having is utsesumi and of course its not easily atttainable. one question that comes to me is "why SE, why, is this job like some kind of novelty feature like dan in street fighter? i mean geez they should've made it like bst where u dont need a pty. cause this job really makes no sense, the most expensive job in the game but its got crappy features. yes dual weild is good but thats all there is dual weaps and utsesumi and u have urself a nin. dont get me wrong i love the idea of being a nin just hate the fact that the other jobs are justified for there job specific abilities while the nin is handicapped, lost in obscurity if you will. its like se ran out of ideas when they got to nin. sry it just doesnt make sense to me

Nnja

Yeah, NIN's aren't DD... they are effectively very nice tanks (great for saving the healer's mana) against most mobs (very bad tanks against monk style mobs because they eat through utsusemi).

If you want NIN the way that you would think a NIN should be, go with THF. If you want a blink-tank, go with NIN.

I agree they somewhat messed up with NIN. Personally, I think that the NIN job is still very valid as is, but it should be renamed. Ninja just conjures up completely different images than what they ultimately ended up with. It's really more of a terminology faux pax.

Oh well...

They took the keyboard away......wow hehe. OH WAIT! you play PS2. lol

"Are you the one just for me?"

Typing?

Yeah, I was going to say.... how the hell is she typing her replies?

You know, if the keyboard is USB, you could just plug it into the PS2. If not, you can technically pick up a PS/2 to USB adapter. (There, PS/2 is the type of connector, NOT PlayStation 2 ;-)

thats awesome, alot of whm stuff and the new areas...and maior....what exactly did u mean by " Great... just what we need... WHMs with even bigger heads ;-)" huh ?!?!?!

WHMs and THFs

In my experience, WHMs and THFs typically get away with the most. In every single party I have been in that had a lackluster WHM or THF (the WHM didn't have all their spells, would go AFK for a bit unannounced, or the THF didn't do SATAs, or wouldn't coordinate their SATA with skillchains, etc) no one ever complained. Basically, WHMs and THFs are seen as so necessary that a lot of people let them get away with murder :-)

That's not to say that WHMs or THFs are inherently bad players or anything. Just that they aren't called on things when they screw up as the rest of us are.

Besides, WHMs have so many other cool abilities, why do they need any more? Give MNKs Nunchukas, damnit!

Exciting

I am really excited for this update, there are lots of really neat sounding things going on here.

- The new region "Lumoria" and the new area "Al'Taieu" will become accessible.

Woot! I hope it is accessible to level 40 characters ;-)

- The white magic spell Banish III will become available.

- A new job trait for white mages will be added.

Great... just what we need... WHMs with even bigger heads ;-)

- A new job trait for samurais will be added.

Woot! SAM has needed a new trait for a very long time (ever since they were gimped last year).

- There will be additions and changes to some of the items required to fulfill guild contracts.

Sure hope this means they will be a titch more resonable. 30k for just my Chef's Hat is outrageous when my food only increments it by 10-50 points.

Fishing

Just wanted to add that the Fishing upgrade has been phenom... they actually took something that REALLY needed fixing, and fixed it!

The SAM additions were cool too. There is a new ability that makes it so they can immediately attack again at certain missed blows (it's not all the time, only occassionally, like MNK's counter) and Third Eye has been tweaked (now certain spells cannot cancel it out).

The WHM trait that is new deals with Divine Seal. Basically, every once in a while, Divine Seal will turn a normal spell into a -ga area affect spell.
