Is anyone else having troubles connecting today (Saturday, 25th of June)? I have been trying for at least 3 hours and cannot get past my "Retrieving Friend List" screen!



I know they've been having intermittant DDoS attacks since April 9th, but I would certainly hope they could have resolved them since then (see this for the headline). I mean, there are tons of things that can be done to make the attack affect you less (cycling IP addresses across servers, and using POL to distribute new IPs to authenticated clients only; IP filtration before the servers- small overhead but worth it IMHO; even network caching of the login facilities- I'm sure Akamai would be more than willing to grant some help here, and Squeenix can certainly afford it with what they are earning from FFXI).



*Sigh*... Sorry, just really getting frustrated because I wanted to get some good leveling done tonight.
