With the upcomeing server maintenance, thats going to take all day >>;, we will soon know about these strange new additions. Also if you've been keeping up with whats to be added this will promiss to be a big update, sorry all you Dial Up users. But still I can not wait untill I get myselff a Gobbie hat! ^^It's going to be awesome, anyways we've only got a few days to wait!

At the following time, we will be performing FINAL FANTASY XI server maintenance on all Worlds. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XI will be unavailable.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

*The client software will also be updated at this time. Once this maintenance is completed, the client update will start automatically after logging back into FINAL FANTASY XI. Please follow the instructions that appear on your screen.

*Simultaneous server access is expected during this period. If you are unable to complete the version update, please try again later.

How they will pull this off, idk... There will have to be some EXP loss like with a pet. Still pretty interesting.

I also predict this will be a long involved quest like the Mannequin parts one... so hopefully you wont find the dunes full of low level idiots with alliances of NPCs in tow.

maybe se is about to cut and run like it has done with so many of its other ventures (ahem, the hdd ><). maybe ppl r quiting cause stuffs so darn ridiculous sometimes, who knows with se. lol well at least its not like ur gonna wake up one day and ffxi is no longer playable^^....right?

What the bloody hell you talking about? SE cutting and running on what, lol? They have the game ported to the 360 for its launch and it's the top MMORPG world-wide.

I am so confused lol^^

Lineage

If you REALLY wanna get technical, Lineage is the most popular MMORPG worldwide... but that is due to the insanely devote following in Korea (some 90% of their players are in that country).

Also, FFXI is has such a high subscription purely because it is available on the PS2. The PS2 accounts for the vast majority of FFXI players. In fact, the PC version, if taken on its own, is behind Lineage and WoW in terms of PC-only subscriptions.

Of course, this is all why Square wants to have it on the 360. They know that the console market is where the real money is.

Auctly XI will not be a 360 launch title. They are beta after it comes out then soon after it will be relesed. ^^

Sounds like a good idea to me. Seems like SE is finally doing something to make it easier to accomplish things without having to organize a full party for everything. Imagine having your own NPC WHM around to keep you healed while farming, questing, or just getting those first 10 levels on a new job. I'm all for it.

This is wierd. I dont know how in the world this could workout at all.Unless they were like GuildWars where you have to make your party in the City, and when your in the field its only you and your party. I just hope SE dosent do that to FFXI. I guess we'll have to wait.
