Sorry Milo, I removed this from the front page. The tool isn't something I want to use for ClanAM, as it duplicates the stuff we already have here and since all traffic on that site can be monitored by the GMs (and will be subject to nazi-like rules which would prevent "pudding" threads from happening).

Bah, get in IRC sometime Milo, we discuss this kind of stuff there :-P

There's lots of stuff in there that scares me. The nice thing about what we have now is I control it. We aren't subject to any sort of nasty rules that could get our characters banned, or our entire LS banned, or anything. We can be us, we can fucking swear, we can post pictures of guys eating babies and superman molesting children and we're kosher.

Additionally, they don't really give us anything we don't already have. They give us stats on characters, but... meh. I think people throw around stats too much already.

Plus, we have so much content on this site (nearly 900 nodes and over 5000 individual posts) that I really don't want to dilute things with some other crap where people in our Clan can post stuff.

that was some of my concerns too... i set up the other ls i'm a member of, and figured that i'd do CAM too... i gave you manager rights on there seeing as how it is you ls after all :P ... the nice think about it is you can see what ppl's jobs are currently and the missions they are on, this could be useful too. Also how do i get an IRC account? i've tried the hot link for freenod over there but bah maybe i'm being retarded i can't figure the blasted thing out ><

Using IRC in 5 easy steps

You're over thinking it.

IRC isn't like AIM or some such shit. It's more basic, just plain-text, no real accounts (though you can register your nick with a server) and all community. It rocks.

Here's how to join in:

Step 1: Go download an IRC client. Any will do, but some I know about for Windows are XChat2, Gaim, Chatzilla and ... blech.. Trillian.

Step 2: Install said IRC client.

Step 3: Connect to "irc.freenode.net".

Step 4: Join the #clanam channel.

Step 5: Chat, bitch.

...

If, for example, you use something like XChat2, then steps 3 and 4 would be as easy as typing the following:

/server irc.freenode.net
/join #clanam

If you use something else, you may have to *gasp* read the documentation to figure out what you need to do.

If you think the pudding thread is useless and rowdy, you should hang out in IRC sometime.

Was using mIRC couldn't get the client to host... figured out it was a simple End User error oops.
